Dr. Halko-Weekes, Director of Claremont Counseling and Support Center, is a pre-licensed psychologist and a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice in the greater Los Angeles area. In addition she supervises and trains interns in private practice, who are pursuing their Marriage & Family Therapist license in the greater Los Angeles area.
Education and Training
Dr. Halko-Weekes received her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in individual, child and family therapy from Alliant University in Alhambra, California, and is a pre-licensed psychologist.
Dr. Halko-Weekes also has a Masters Degree from Azusa Pacific University in Marriage and Family Therapy and is licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of California.

Nicole has a Masters Degree in Clinical psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California. Nicole obtained intern registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in 2003. Nicole's training focused on treating individuals, couples, and families with a broad spectrum of clinical issues.
Experience
Nicole has worked in various diverse settings both during her practicum and internship. Nicole completed her early clinical experience in a psychiatric institute where she performed individual, group, and family therapy at both inpatient and outpatient levels. Nicole's internship settings have included a community counseling center, school district, and private practice.
Specialties
Nicole thinks of herself as a generalist and incorporates different theoretical orientations dependent on the needs of the client. Nicole specializes in working with teenagers, young adults, and individuals dealing with a variety of issues including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, and communication skills training. Nicole has a special interest in Christian therapy and working with individuals going through life transition stages.

Dr. Marcelle Holmes is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of California (PSY 20189). She works at Pomona College as Associate Dean of Students/Dean of Women and works part-time at Claremont Counseling and Support Services. Dr. Holmes works with individuals and couples, utilizing a variety of modalities to facilitate personal growth and enhanced self-understanding.
Dr. Holmes has a special interest in college students, cultural diversity issues, sexuality, and feminist psychotherapy, and she completed her post-doctoral training at the counseling center at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She also served as senior staff psychologist at the counseling center at the Claremont Colleges.
Dr. Holmes received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where her dissertation concerned issues affecting women’s sexuality. Her work has been published in the Journal of Black Psychology and in The American Journal of Psychotherapy. She has also presented at numerous conferences around the country, and has given a number of talks on topics such as yoga for depression, Black women’s mental health, college student mental health, culture and psychology, and the depiction of psychotherapy in the media.
Dr. Holmes is a member of The American Psychological Association. She enjoys reading and travel and is also a certified yoga instructor.

Heather Devine is a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with Claremont Counseling and Support Center. She brings a young fresh outlook to the center, and has been educated and trained from a foundation of recent research and methods as well as a traditional framework.

She obtained her intern registration clearance with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in 2008. Heather’s training focused on treating individuals, couples, and children in all phases of life with a broad spectrum of clinical issues.
Heather is currently under the direct supervision of Kari Halko-Weekes, Ph.D., LMFT, Director of Claremont Counseling and Support Center.

During her practicum, Heather worked in the Chapman University Community Clinic where she performed individual and couples therapy at an outpatient level.
Specialties
Heather works from an attachment conceptual framework and at the same time utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques to guide her interventions. She specializes in working with individuals dealing with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, domestic violence, and relational disorders.Heather has the skills and desire to work with the college age population as well, to address issues that are unique to this developmental phase of life. Her personable, calming presence enables her to be available and contain emotional issues that can at times seem overwhelming.

Lahela has a range of experiences including work with individuals and couples in a university counseling center. In this setting she attended to a variety of issues including work with young adults, individuals, and couples who were dealing with depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss. She also currently works with children with developmental issues. Lahela’s work with couples covers a range of concerns including premarital topics, marital enrichment, grief and loss, and infidelity.

Lahela takes a collaborative approach in which she and the client(s) work together to develop goals and a plan for meeting them. She utilizes a variety of approaches in order to fit client needs. Specifically, Lahela works from a Family Systems foundation and incorporates Experiential Family Therapy with a focus in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy.

Scott is currently a Doctoral candidate completing his PhD in Clinical Psychology at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. Scott is currently registered as a Psychological Assistant with the California Board of Psychology. Scott works under the direct supervision of Dr. Kari Halko-Weekes PhD, LMFT, Director of Claremont Counseling and Support Center.

Scott has experience working with adults, adolescents, children and families. Scott has worked with a wide range of clinical issues. He specializes in working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, family of origin issues, sexual abuse, obsessive compulsive disorder, relational issues, and ADHD. He also specializes in working with men and sexual addictions, pornography, anger and impulse control, and infidelity. He has had professional and training experiences in community mental health agencies, outpatient mental health centers and has provided in-home family therapy, as well as worked at a day treatment center. Scott is currently completing a clinical rotation at Patton State Hospital.

Scott works from a psychodynamic model which focuses on providing insight into client’s lives and identifying underlying issues which once brought to light can then be changed. Scott works from a developmental and psychodynamic approach. Scott has had training and supervision in developmental, psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches to psychotherapy. Scott’s goal in therapy is to work collaboratively with clients in order to free clients from issues that control or determine their lives.
